What a treat these open evenings are, with their informality and spontaneity. A group of 20 or so
people, sitting in a circle sharing stories. Moving with ease between folktales, adventures, flights of
imagination and slices of people’s lives.
Tellers ranging in age from 19 year-olds to people in their 70’s sharing their tales for the start of the new year.
There is no hierarchy at these times (whether in age or experience), just the open-heartedness of
the offerings. And it is definitely a theme: this heart-feltness, whether it be the place on the boat,
where the secret magic is kept or the girl listening to the raven for the first time and understanding
the world.
We leave learning just a bit more about ourselves and each other.
