SAM_1484On a cold bleak day in April Jessica Turner and myself went over to Holy Island to see the medieval site of Green Shiel. I had never been there before and was quite impressed to find 5 rectangular shapes of buildings in the plan of a cross. It felt remote, far away from the priory. All you could hear was the sea and the skylarks.

SAM_1486Working with the pupils from St Marys school at Belford was a pleasure as they were so keen and attentive to join in with everything. We had fun collecting drift wood to make into tools which we used to make markings in clay for brooch and cloak fastenings.

One of them found a wonderful skull on the beach, it reminded us of dragons which weaved itself into some of their stories they created and into mine!
