I’d never been to a storytelling event before this evening, so I was unsure what to expect. The room was cosy and full of friendly people, and when we quietened down to begin the evening, I felt a shift in the atmosphere that brought me back to sitting cross-legged on a primary school carpet, eager to hear what happens next.
What we found was a story within a story within a story, accompanied by gorgeous music and quite a few laughs. From the gentle flute that accompanied the flight of a bird to the tale that was woven in and out of various stories and places in front of us by the enthusiastic storyteller Chris, I was captivated!
