With Ruth Kirkpatrick

Friday 1st July, 7.30pm
Cobalt Studio,
Ouseburn
Newcastle upon Tyne

“Now the cattle raids over the border have ceased, it’s time to gather together with story and song!

Join Scottish storyteller, Ruth Kirkpatrick for a ceilidh night at A Bit Crack’s Storytelling night at the Cobalt Studios.
Born in the North East of Scotland, Ruth has a broad repertoire of stories and songs from Traditional and local Traveller sources and a knack of knowing which of these ‘gems’ she should share. Listen out for tales of a Highland goddess, the bravest lass in the Borders and some bawdy ballads from Dundee.
Having travelled widely to Iceland, Singapore and The United Arab Emirates she is also a regular teller at Scottish Storytelling Festivals in Edinburgh and Glasgow. She has just returned from a tour of Holland, where her feet barely touched the ground – she was cycling. We look forward to her pedalling some of her home grown folk tales on her first storytelling visit to Newcastle.
