Malcolm Green and Chris Bostock  tell stories inspired by the rock art of Lordenshaws near Rothbury  and Thirwall Castle on Hadrians Wall, with accompanying narratives by archaeologist Paul Frodsham.

The Sun in the Stone
Further to Malcolm’s tale of Yeavering Bell last month, he follows it with another imaginative raid on pre-history. He will tell the story of the mysterious marks on the rocks at Lordenshaws near Rothbury. Someone made them over 4000 years ago using stone tools and a view of the world we can only imagine. Who was it, why was she there? With the help of the children of Rothbury First school and archaeologist Paul Frodsham a story emerged that we shall hear tonight. Paul will be with us  to set the scene.

The Devil’s Gold
Thirlwall Castle tall and still, hides a secret on its hill. Come and join us at your leisure, to hear the story of its treasure. Hear fact and Fiction side by side, but what is true, you must decide!  Paul Frodsham will tell all that has been learned from the ruins of Thirlwall Castle and Chris will tell you everything that has been imagined with the help of pupils form Greenhead First School.
